Miter Saws

A powered miter saw is your go-to tool for cutting angles, trim and cross-cuts.  They are really are a worthwhile tool for any sort of finish carpentry and woodwork.

I’ve used mine a lot on crown molding installation jobs and baseboards.  While they’re not cheap, if you’re going to get a lot of use out of one, they are definitely worth the investment.  Even getting a second hand one, would be better than no miter saw at all.

Knowing which one to buy can be tricky as they’ll generally set you back around $500 – especially if you’re after a decent saw that can miter beyond 45 degrees in both directions.  Both the Bosch and the DeWalt can also do bevel cuts which is particularly handy for trim work.

To assist you in your hunt for a miter saw, we’ve written a couple of guides to help you out.
